Change how you think, and your life will transform forever. This takes us to the question, how? How do you change your mindset? It’s easy when you know what to do. You have to figure out the non-supportive mindset and replace it with the one that drives you to success. Instead of “I can’t do this”, ask, how can I do this?
This powerful strategy has changed many lives, and it’s still doing its wonders. Unfortunately, because of the experience and background of many people, it is easy for them to always give in to challenges and say they can’t do it, and as a result, they will never be able to do it. The advice of successful people regarding this is to make a perspective shift to asking yourself: how can you do this? They say the first statement will shut your brain from working while the other will open your brain to a series of possibilities you never knew existed. It will also prompt you to take action. With this change of thinking alone, you can always get whatever you want in life. If you’re going to become fit, ask yourself: how can I become fit? The possible answers are to eat healthily and show up at the gym. That’s how simple it is, and it works amazingly.
So the next time you want to do something, and you think it’s too complicated, ask a question about how you can do it. You will be overwhelmed with the number of ideas that will keep falling on your mind. Instead of “I will start tomorrow”, say what can I do today?
Do you remember the last time an idea came to you, and you told yourself you would do it tomorrow? Did you do it, or is it a story for another day? The latter is the answer for most people. Unless a task is meant to be for tomorrow, you should do it today. This is because when you delay action, you are feeding the demons in you. We are talking about your fear, laziness and procrastination. And the more food they get, the more they overcome you until you never do anything to change your life. What’s the takeaway? Don’t transfer anything that you can do today till tomorrow because tomorrow never ends.
Instead of this won’t work, say I won’t know until I try
Most of the time in life, the thing we think won’t work out turns out to be profitable. Every day, we see this, from contesting for a position, making a bargain, and publishing a book. Most of the time, it happens at unexpected moments. Think about it: if everyone knows what is going to happen, will there be anyone left to be successful. The act of giving things a try is what makes the difference. You can never know whether something will work unless you have experienced it before. How then do you know something new will work out? Give it a try. That is the only time when you can know if it will work or not and see another world of possibilities.
Instead of having obstacles, say this is just happening on the journey
Assuming you are travelling from Chicago to China, many things will happen on the road. Some of them will be pleasant, while others will offend you. How will you deal with the offence’s experiences? Will you drop down from the plane because someone spilled coffee on your clothes? This is how to think and deal with challenges in life. Success is your destination. The challenges you face are just happenings on your journey. When you think this way, you will rarely be affected by what Jack and Jane say or the disappointment you face. Instead, you will focus on your journey and keep going till you get to your destination.
Instead of “I need to be perfect”, say I just need to begin
Do you also know about perfection syndrome? That’s the disease that has killed more dreams than anything else. There is no doubt you must have what it takes to succeed before becoming successful and making things work. But what is the almighty formula? No one knows the answer. The truth is perfection exists nowhere. The perfect product you see today is a result of trials, errors, feedback and corrections. But what made it a reality is the fact that they started it in the first place. Remember, you just need to begin when you want to do something and you wonder how you can do it. The rest of the answers you need will come after then.
Instead of life is not on my side, say I am what I do every day
We want to give you a task to help you understand life better. Tell yourself every morning before you begin the hassles of the day; I am what I do every day. No matter how surprising this looks, that’s the reality. The position you are in today results from what you have been doing in the past. This mindset shift forces you to look back at your life and check what you are doing wrong and right. We suppose you know what to do. Keep up with the good ones and change the ones that are harming you. Your future will thank you for that decision. When you remind yourself that you are what you do every day; your perspective shifts to a fact. Your life depends on your actions and decisions, and you can change it if you want.
Instead of “I am lacking”, say, What are those things I’m grateful for?
The mindset of lacking is like a thief that steals the joy of the human heart. Ensure you stop it from jumping into your house the next time. Life is in two folds, depending on how you see it. It is full of prosperity and disaster. It works just like an algorithm that presents what you want based on your previous activities. Live shows you what it feels you want. You may think, but I want good things. Why is life showing me something else? Life is not watching what you say, just like the algorithm. It only shows you a side that goes with what you have in your mind. When you think of prosperity, that’s what you will see. Likewise, if thoughts of disaster and scarcity are what flood your mind, the tsunami will soon show up.

Our thoughts indeed control our life. The good ones create a better life for you the same way the negative ones drive you into misery. So, you must watch your thoughts to ensure only positive ones have a place to stay. However, this doesn’t take away the essence of taking action. Thoughts without action make no difference. We believe that if your mindset is strong and accurate, it will propel you to take needed steps that will get you the result you desire.
